googled job alerts

Every job board I know of  in the world offers job alerts -  e-mails that ‘alert’ users to new jobs when posted.

I’m personally signed up for at least five with five separate boards. Getting five separate e-mails is a drag. Especially when the job openings are regularly "Earn millions on eBay."

Enter Google. I can sign-up for specific keywords (such as jobs of interest) and get alerted via e-mail daily or weekly when a Web page with that phrase is searchable by Google.

I can get searches from any site. Craigslist. Yahoo! A company’s career center. Doesn’t matter to Google.

How long do you think it’ll take before job seekers trash their tons of e-mail messages and cut it down to just one from Google?

What a great idea. I get tons of these emails every week and none of them are ever relevant and I don’t have time to review all of them.
