How many of you recruiters out there still use your Outlook to store resumes that are e-mailed to you? You know who you are.

My guess is it’s quite a few. But never fear …

Google (and the rest) now has a desktop search tool. Download it for free and you can access just about everything that’s on your computer. Quickly and easily earch e-mails from candidates, Word docs from applicants and, well, yeah, pretty much anything.

Like searching at  Google, type in anything you remember about a particular candidate, for example,  and presto, results come up just like they do on a Web search.

So, if you don’t have a high-priced applicant tracking solution, never fear. Google desktop search is here.

Try enfish search, the new copernic desktop searc or Yahoo desktop search much more powerful than google as it actually will show a picture of the resume attachment withouth having to open a document. It allows for a boolean string as well, and also allows for you to search within specific folders in your outlook
