broadband usage brings great employment branding opportunity

This came in today compliments of AdAge:

The big Internet portals, Yahoo!, AOL and MSN
increasingly are targeting home users with streaming advertising
content delivered over broadband connections. This marks a critical
shift away from the assumption that most viewers of broadband
    advertising are at work.

No doubt broadband, high-speed Internet use is growing. And now it’s becoming clearer that usage at home is catching up to at-work numbers.

This is an incredible opportunity to enhance your employment brand, making a candidate’s experience much more interactive.

Do you have employment-related videos on your site? You should. Don’t just tell someone that you’re a great place to work. Show them.

Additionally, search engines are becoming more and more sensitive to making video searchable. I wouldn’t be surprised if they started adding video searches to regular searches in the future. They already do this with photographs.

To make sure you start showing-up where you should, be sure to name your video file appropriately. For example, name your video file www.yourcompany.com/jobs/nursing.asp.

To review: 1) Broadband usage is increasing. 2) More people are getting used to viewing video online. 3) As an employer, add videos to your job postings. 4) Be found on search engines.
