Human beings are visual animals. So, it’s odd to me that more and more companies don’t show people what it’s like to work at their company with streaming video, opting instead to tell them with words in a job posting.
I mean, does this job posting inspire you?: Nursing assistant.
The growing popularity of broadband should wake-up many employers to the opportunity to create an emotional connection with job candidates and attract top talent away from their competition via video.
Google, for example, has launched an online streaming video in the hopes of attracting women engineers to their company. And it’s fantastic.
Click here to check it out (warning: don’t click if you’re on a dial-up connection).
If I were female, an engineer and open to job opportunities, I’d probably be on my way to the Googleplex this very moment instead of blogging. Alas, I am none of the above.

Hi Joel
I couldn’t agree with you more. I am the CEO of a new company which was set up in 2002, specifically to accelerate the interaction between employees and employers, through the use of streaming video. We currently work with some of the most innovative and “thought leading” companies in the UK, Russia, USA and South Africa, enabling the creation of candidate showcases and Video Job descriptions to bring the recruitment process to life. Drop me a line and I will sned you a username and password for the online demo. Also take a look at the following website: - http://www.three.co.uk - go to the careers section and chose the Glasgow location then take a look at some of the roles with the in2Vista links on them. I would be delighted to get your views.
I look forward to hearing from you.
