If you read this blog with any consistency, you know that I write about the .jobs domain
quite a bit. In short, I think it has incredible potential to change
online recruitment as we know it.

That said, I’m happy to report that the .jobs team has retained
me as a special consultant. I will help with the marketing and
technology aspects of the business, as well as support their search
engine optimization and marketing goals and objectives as it pertains
to the organization and their clients.

For readers like you, it’ll be an exciting first-hand look into
the process of launching the domain and watching as it takes-off with
employers. It’ll be a lot of fun, and I’m excited to be along for the ride.

Very cool, while I am not 100% convinced that dot jobs will change the world good work. I hope you can bring to the table the differing views from around the globe to ensure that dot jobs does not end up just a US-centric domain.

hmm… well my opinion of the chances of .jobs success just went up about 1000% ;)

i’m still a bit skeptical tho joel — how does .jobs help employers more than a http://www.company.com/jobs subdirectory, or an RSS feed of their job listings?

i guess it helps discoverability a bit (and it might make our efforts at SimplyHired.com easier), but if it’s just a domain suffix i’m not convinced there’s much benefit there for the average employer.

if there’s more to it than that, i’d like to hear it…?
