If you’re not familiar with RSS, do yourself a favor and get on the bandwagon. The technology is changing the way people receive information, and quickly.
Bloglines announced today that is has reached 500 million blog and news feed articles are now stored in the service’s comprehensive, searchable database.
Additionally from their press release:
Between January and June of this year, the size of the Bloglines index
doubled. And each day Bloglines adds 2 million to 2.7 million new blog
and news feed articles to the database, drawn from a diverse range of
sources in many languages — from blogs about knitting to major online
newspaper feeds.
This is particularly relevant to the job search space.
Indeed.com already has a partnership with Bloglines to source real-time job postings aggregated from around the Web to users.
No need to visit numerous job boards everyday, or risk that the myriad of job board e-mail alerts get sent to your spam filter. Nope, just sign-up for a Blogline’s account, sign-up for your Indeed feed, and you’re set. It’s even free.
Chances are, you won’t even know where each posting comes from. But, then again, do you really care?
