sumser says search no. 2 behind job boards in driving traffic

From today’s ERE, by John Sumser:

The easiest and most cost effective method for driving [candidate] traffic to a website involves advertising on job boards.

Search engine optimization is a close second but provides an initial floor rather than a continuing boost (like job boards can).

    Other
methods include community building, referral systems (like jobster),
direct marketing, non-job board advertising, niche board development,
    keyword acquisition and so on.

What Sumser fails to mention is the top driver of traffic to job boards is search. I know, ’cause I worked on the inside of that industry for a long time.

Through that perspective, search is the No. 1 driver of traffic to employment openings.
