The wait is over. The .jobs domain is a reality.

With the official launch taking place at the annual SHRM Conference today, it is a time of great optimism – and at the same time a day of great skepticism – in the online recruitment community. (My fear is the largest percentage resides in the "Huh?" category – particularly with employers.)

Is it the backbone of a revolution that will bring the current infrastructure to its knees? A moderately successful venture that’s utilized by a relatively small percentage of employers? A total flop?

Only time will tell. Regardless, I predict a fun ride, or at least an intriguing one.

More later … I don’t want to water down this post with excessive opinion.

    Hey Joel,

I tried going to a few of the sites that are accepting registration for these .jobs I can’t seem to figure out how to register them. They do not seem to give the .jobs as a choice. I would like to register a couple
