Classified Intelligence Report’s John Zappe has written a nice piece on Yahoo!’s HotJobs getting into the vertical job search arena [PDF removed].

I love Bill Warren’s quote: "This is the beginning of the end for Monster and CareerBuilder … This is really Monster’s worst fear."

Warren, an online recruitment pioneer going back to Online Career Center (OCC), which was purchased by Monster in the late ’90s, and now president of Direct Employers, should know. Warren’s a veteran in this game, and when he says something like that, it has some weight.

And erasing Monster and CareerBuilder from the game is probably something that would benefit him greatly. Direct Employers provides a direct link to employers’ corporate Web sites. Listings directly from corporate sites will be the content which will undoubtedly be essential for Google, Yahoo! or anyone else to provide users with quality search results.
