PageRank is Google’s unofficial measurement of how important they deem a Web site on a scale of 0-10. Ten being the highest.

To reach this pinnacle is no small feat. The sites on top of Everest have a long history (in Internet terms) of relevance and ongoing link popularity.

That said, here is a list of sites that have reached Google’s Perfect 10:

  • Google.com – No shocker here.
  • Apple.com – Apple Computer, also houses the iTunes Music Store.
  • www.w3.org – The World Wide Web Consortium.
  • stanford.edu – Stanford Univ, California, USA.
  • energy.gov – The United States Department of Energy.
  • NASA.gov – NASA, USA’s government agency for the space program and aerospace research.
  • NSF.gov – National Science Foundation , USA’s government agency for basic science research.
  • FirstGov.gov – The U.S. Government Portal.
  • adobe.com – Adobe Systems, computer software company.
  • Keio University – Keio University, Tokyo, Japan.
  • Real.com – RealNetworks, Internet media delivery, software, and services
  • Intel Corporation – Intel, computer hardware company.
  • web.mit.edu – Massachusetts Institude of Technology, Massachusetts, USA.
  • lcs.mit.edu – MIT Laboratory for Computer Science
  • Macromedia.com – Macromedia, computer software company.
  • StatCounter.com – StatCounter.com, Internet services.

Anyone who thinks Google isn’t the least bit competitive with Yahoo!, MSN, eBay, Amazon or [fill in any major newspaper site here] – all of which arguably deserve a 10 PageRank – may want to reconsider. Additionally, anyone who thinks .edu’s and .gov’s don’t get a stamp of approval from Google might want to reconsider.
