google subset results update

Last month, I talked about the fact that Google was playing around with delivering different search results, adding subset searches to the top result. Well, it seems like they’re still tinkering. Here’s an updated version (much better):

Searches like this enable users to bypass a site’s homepage and go directly to a secondary page. It’s a little unclear right now as to what criteria Google is using to grab those particular links over other links on a site. However, you can bet as webmasters learn how to get secondary pages in search results like this, it’ll be a hot strategy.

For corporations, this would be an ideal way to help job seekers get directly to their openings. In fact, if Google takes this function out of testing, I predict a good number of companies will see their homepage drop to No. 2 as the most served page after jobs.
