I love Sundays.

Included in the list of things I love (besides the fact that football’s back) is the Sunday newspaper. Yes, I’m guilty. The rest of the week is ignored, but I’m OK with Sunday’s delivery.

As much as newspapers are sooo last century, there’s something to be said for a cup of coffee, a sunny morning and the Sunday paper.

Granted, half the paper ends up unread for lack of interest, but I enjoy sitting with my wife and perusing the week that was.

One of the most entertaining parts of the paper to me is the classified ads – especially the job listings.

For my own business, job ads are a good way to keep on top of what employers are doing from a print advertising perspective. (I’m still waiting to be blown away, by the way.)

Looking at the newspaper from a job seekers perspective, I can’t help but laugh. The black and white shotgun of words on a classifieds page seem so outdated to me in light of the Web and how I, at least, consume information.

I can’t help but think that only the most active of job seekers must be willing to weed through the mess of 5-line ads. Even the pricey display ads all look the same.

I mean, how many smiling female nurses can you put in an ad for a hospital? Don’t these recruitment ad agencies have creative people?

I’ve never seen a zebra’s puke, but I imagine it looks a bit like print classifieds.

Anyway, back to Kickoff Sunday … Go Browns!
