Monster recently launched a new functionality called QUICKapply. It allows a job seeker to easily send resumes to employers in one-click, rapid-fire fashion.
C’mon, is this really good for their customers?
With so many employers griping about getting too much junk from Monster already, it hardly makes sense for them to actually make resume spam easier.
But hold on, it gets worse. Yep, it sucks for the job seeker as well.
Sure, as a prospect, you can now run-and-gun your resume to tons of employers, but the trade-off is that you yourself are going to get spammed by Monster with intrusive advertisements each time you apply.
So, let’s recap: More spam for employers. More spam for job seekers.
Anyone else think the monkeys from the CareerBuilder commercial are running the show in Waltham?

I ran into a recruiter friend of mine tonite who is a CareerBuilder user. She has just the opposite problem. CareerBuilder now requires job seekers to apply through their online system and whenever she gets a resume it comes in as one long string of text which is difficult to read.
Makes you wonder if these sites ever heard of the term ‘user friendly’.

I wonder what would happen if candidates knew that most online applications are never looked at.
Recruiters check e-mail and online postings - they rarely if ever take the time to check “Apply Online listings” in their Monster account.
At least none of the recruiters I know.
They already have information overload.
