google tip-toes into real estate listings

According to an article in MercuryNews.com, Google is currently working with a large commercial real estate agency to provide content and functionality for a yet-to-be-determined solution

The article says:

    Commercial real estate’s largest data
provider is working with Google to integrate its vast stores of
building information with the Google Earth interactive satellite
    mapping service.

This is interesting to me for two reasons.

1. It’s Google’s first legit foray into the classifieds space with vertical search. Time will tell how this solution will develop, but combining Google Earth, Google Maps and vertical search for real estate listings should be interesting.

2. Google is partnering with someone to help provide a new solution. Google’s ego rarely allows it to rely on other entities for content or technology. Financial information is a rare example.

So, when predicting what vertical job search could look like, will Google rely on a partner? If so, Monster is the only realistic participant. Every other player is tied to a competitor.
