Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.
- John Lennon
John Lennon was murdered 25 years ago today in New York City.
I missed out on Beatlemania. Too young to recall Plastic Ono Band. His assassination is barely memorable.
Regardless, John Lennon continues to live on and influence millions of people and touch many, many hearts and souls. Me included.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame here in Cleveland had an exhibit featuring Lennon a few years ago. One item on display included the glasses he was wearing when he was shot. The blood stains were still visible, and it really hit home.
Today, I invite you to take a few moments to remember John, download some Working Class Hero and, most of all, imagine.

Whenever people ask me “if you could meet one person dead or alive, who would it be?”, my response is always John Lennon.
Here was a guy that never grew up knowing his dad, his mom was killed in a car accident when he was young…and spent most of his adult life pursuing fame as a means to prove his worth. Just listen to “Mother” on Plastic Ono Band. The song is about letting go of your past and coming to terms with the death of the people you love most. Pretty intense stuff.
People always ridiculed John for beign antagonistic, naive and idealistic…but I think that’s what people loved about him. When he died, everyone lost a peice of their youth.
