google’s gmail launches rss feeder

RSS feeds mashed-up
with e-mail.

Yahoo! did it last month and is still testing it. Now Google is doing it.

Google has added RSS feeds to Gmail, their very popular e-mail solution. Now, when Gmailers peruse e-mail, they’ll have direct access to and snippets of their favorite RSS feeds.

Blogs. News. And yes, jobs.

If I’m Indeed, SimplyHired or Jobster, I’m doing everything I can to take advantage of this opportunity and capture this real estate.

And I’m doing it quickly, because as Google’s own classifieds offering becomes bigger, better and more important, the opportunity for those eyeballs and that mindshare is closing.

The vertical job sites have a major opportunity to take a lead position by leveraging Gmail’s eyeballs. Who will grab the horns?
