Indiana, a state well known for its basketball heritage, has done a nice head-fake on Monster.

According to a press release, issued by Monster, dated Feb. 1 of this year entitled “Indiana Awards $2.8 Million Contract to Monster Government Solutions to Build a Statewide Online Job Search and Recruitment System,” Monster had a deal signed, sealed and delivered.

But not so fast.

A recent story in Nap Town’s newspaper entitled, “State Drops Plan for Monster Job Bank,” tells a different story, saying, “‘It’s off,’ said Joe DiLaura, spokesman for Indiana Workforce Development. ‘We’re redoing the RFP (request for proposals) and we’re going to be rebidding the whole thing, probably by mid-summer.”

Now isn’t that curious?
