direct employers begins adding client job content into google base … others joining the party too

March 29th, 2006

A job board party is starting to take shape at Google Base. And CareeBuilder’s influence is slowly deteriorating as the lone big boy posting jobs. I was pretty sure such a thing would happen once Google integrated Base content into their Web search.

Nationally-focused Employment Guide and NationJob seem to be testing things out, however, most notably, Direct Employers (Job Central.com) seem to be making the biggest splash. Apparently, they’re now uploading all (or at least a lot) of their client content into Google Base. Do a search for Xerox jobs, for example:

What’s cool about Direct Employers’ approach is that they send traffic directly to the employer Web site. Additionally, they’re helping brand each corporation via a corporate logo. Nice touch, and a great differentiator from a job board logo.

To date, over 100,000 jobs are being uploaded via Direct Employers in support of their clients. Good move.

For employers having trouble figuring out Google Base or the whole vertical search engine phenomenon … or just getting pushback from the IT department or their ATS provider … Direct Employers seems to be positioning themselves as the oasis of vertical job search posting simplicity.
