The blogosphere will be buzzing about this new alliance between eBay and Yahoo! big time (at least the blogs I read), so I won’t go into too much detail. Checkout this article for that.
I’ll keep it focused: What does this mean for HotJobs?
Few would argue that HotJobs has been floating around aimlessly for the last 5+ years, with direction stuck between pay-per-posting and vertical job search. Maybe this will put new life into the Old Dog.
1) A partnership with eBay arguably puts all of Yahoo!’s services in front of eBayers on a regular basis … including HotJobs content.
2) This deal could turn a great deal of eBay’s Power Sellers on to filling positions via HotJobs.
3) EBay owns Rent.com. This would become a great medium for HotJobs since movers are usually in transition anyway.
4) How does eBay partner Elance fit into the equation?
5) I’m kinda, sorta sure that Monster used to be and/or still is an advertiser on eBay. This could affect that.
6) If HotJobs stays on the path of vertical job search, they could learn a lot of eBay’s own listing enhancements, such as highlighting listings for a fee.
Did I miss anything?
Overall, this should be good for both eBay and Yahoo! In return, it should be good for HotJobs as well. Time, as always, will tell.

Fairly complete….
I’d add Paypal for Hotjobs audience and recruiters / advertisers
Contextual jobs advertising on ebay listings; they have hundreds of listings for resume services, for example.
Click to call / Skype – may sound far fetched, but imagine a) seeker clicking on a button next to the job posting and getting right through to the advertiser or their pre-recorded message; and / or b) recruiters clicking on a button next to a seeker’s resume / profile to contact them directly.

Hotjobs can behavoiral target. So, when looking for military people, you can market jobs and brands directly to the military people while they are on hotjobs or yahoo mail.
Currently yahoo can only analyze the behavoir of a user while that user is on yahoo’s network. The same holds true for ebay. I imagine that a partnership will result in the two powerhouses sharing behavoiral data and making both consumer and recruitment marketing efforts more targeted. Hopefully!
Its better stated here by Imran Khan of J.P. Morgan.
