google’s top ten initiatives for the near future

John Battelle has a nice summary of Google’s top initiatives for the near future via their recent chat with Wall Street. The ones that caught my eye are as follows (with my comments):

  1. Google Base Won’t Be A Large Separate Site (no surprise, but expect greater integration into Web search and AdWords.)
  2. Behavioral Targeting Holds More Promise Than Demographic Targeting (and more promise than PPC, haters bow down)
  3. Keyword Prices Should Continue to Rise (learn to fall in love with organic search results, if you haven’t already)
  4. Local Search is a Significant Portion of Their Business (a huge percentage of hiring is local)

None of the above should surprise Cheezheads. Just reinforce.
