hotjobs wants to feed on your job content

In the deepest, darkest corners of HotJobs - what equates to the back alley at the bottom of a search results page - you’ll see what looks like the ability to upload your jobs directly or have them spidered into HotJobs, presumably at no cost.

And why not? They’re spidering content for free already. A nearby link allows you to opt-out if your jobs are currently being scraped.

Interesting that they would have such an offering so well hidden. I mean, why not put mention of it on the job posting information page? Wouldn’t that make more sense? Oh, wait, that might decrease revenue too fast, too soon.

Honestly, the placement of the addition link doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, and I welcome anyone from HotJobs to comment. The only reason sites put links in the footer of a page like this is because it qualifies as 1) navigation, 2) content you want searchable by spiders, or 3) “the lawyers said so.” Which is this?
