google base to expire jobs after 7 days

In an attempt to keep content “as fresh as possible,” Google Base is now putting a 7 day limit on all job postings, either uploaded or added manually to their data pool. Expiration dates vary per category. Checkout the official blog for details.

Considering the high levels of spam and dead pages that are polluting Base, this is a smart move. Additionally, it’s a good sign that Base is now chewing on enough content to expire listings at a quicker pace.

Never fear, however. Your movie review of Gigli is sans expiration date and will live online for all eternity.
