Google Base still has a long way to go when compared to other Google properties according to the chart below.
However, I assume this is tracking pages that are of http://base.google.com origin only, and does not take into account searches done on Base via a general Web search. Click here for an example. If that’s the case, Base traffic is larger than this report suggests.

Joel, at Hitwise, we aggregate http://www.google.com/base to our Google Base #s so the results page in your example would be included. - Bill Tancer

I currently use Google Base and Tie it in with my pay-per-click campaign. I have had some great results.
