employmentguide launches vertical job search engine: jobalot

I reported in April that EmploymentGuide, owned by Trader Publishing Company, was playing around with a new domain they owned called Jobalot.

At the time, the site’s objective looked cloudy, to say the least. Not anymore. We now have the latest entry into the vertical job search game. Checkout their press release.

The website allows job seekers to search hundreds of thousands of jobs from various sites through one source. Jobalot will aggregate opportunities directly from targeted and niche job boards, bringing quality exposure and traffic to those content sites.

In December of last year, EG partnered with Indeed.com and TopUSAJobs.com. It’s probably not a stretch to think this is the culmination of at least parts of that partnership’s goals.

This comes on the heels of Monster and Net-Temps following a similar strategy. Verticals, verticals, everywhere verticals. Who’s next?
