Google announced a new deal with eBay today that will make Google the exclusive provider of text-based advertising for eBay outside of the US. The deal also pushes VoIP and pay-per-call exposure forward.
Specifically, Google will become the exclusive text-based advertising provider for eBay outside the United States. In addition, eBay and Google plan to integrate and launch “click-to-call” advertising functionality that leverage both Skype and Google Talk globally in each company’s respective shopping and search platforms. The companies said the financial terms for certain components of the deal involve revenue sharing, but did not disclose specific details.
Considering eBay’s recent deal with Yahoo! for stateside ad content, this is quite an amusing deal. I mean, I’m pretty sure it’s good for eBay on most counts. I just wonder how Yahoo! feels about sharing the auction giant.
Hey, if eBay can juggle the two cutest girls in school, even in light of them both knowing about the other, then more power to ‘em. MSN, it’s worth noting, is left at home dateless.

These are my thoughts exactly. The funny thing is the title of this post is almost exactly the same as my post on this subject: Ebay, Google, Yahoo Love Triangle. I’ll have to look through your posts to see if there are any more posts we titled the same!
