using stock tickers to drive more blog traffic

Here’s a neat little trick to help drive some additional traffic to your employment related blog (or just about any blog, really):

When searching stock info via Google Finance, users now see a feed of blog posts on each publicly traded company. Here’s MNST.

The key, however, is to make sure you understand what keyphrase Google is pulling for its results. In Monster’s case, it’s “Monster Worldwide.”

Therefore, if your blog simply notes “Monster,” you’re out of luck. Gotta use “Monster Worldwide” for a little love from GOOG. (And yes, this is another good reason to blog if you’re not already.)
