The SEO world is buzzing this morning about a Google property called searchmash.

The site is apparently a testing ground for new ways Google can serve results, as well as test new offerings.

The site may also be a way for Google to enhance its own search results, as users can actually reorder the results to their liking. For more, checkout their features page.

This is one to watch.

Here’s an seo tip for all you fellow bloggers making blogging a full-time career. When reading other people’s blogs, make sure that their page rank is higher than your page rank.

For example, my page rank for HR Horizons is 4. I am submitting my blog articles on sites such as recruiting.com which has a page rank 6. This means that they are getting better search results and more visitors as a result. This leading to an upsurge in vistors to my blog, HR Horizons. I’ve been hovering around the 8,000 to 9,000 visitor mark. If I can keep this up, I could see my visitor count go over 10,000 for the month.

Another seo tip besides page rank is to be controversial. Write about stuff like that bad things that happened during Hurricane Katrina, bashing Terry Schiavo’s husband, or bashing President Bush. I recently put advertised that I wanted to hire “rare breed knock out women for a web designer.” Now I didn’t have an opening for such a position, but man the amount of traffic I received. Controversial topics drive traffic.
