The ladders is crap
So i was signed up for the basic and thought i would get a cool list of jobs i could apply to and realized i had to pay $180 a year to view and apply to more jobs. I exited the site.

A day later i received an email stating that they were going to give me 14 days free so i decided to jump on the offer.
I punched in my credit card which i was advised i was not going to be charged for but had to put it in to get the free 2weeks.

I applied for jobs most of which directed you to jobs listed on other sites nothing exclusive.

On my 10th day with no success i canceled my membership and got the email saying my free subscription was successfully canceled.

3 days later i was going through my purchases for the week on my credit card and notice i was charged $180 for the ladders

I tried emailing their customer care disputing the charge and asking them to call me but no one ever did.

It was a nightmare, their customer service phone lines direct you to a voicemail which no one returns calls.

I had to call the corporate office after i got their number on google search. After yelling anc screaming for 20 mins the lady agreed to credit me back

NEVER AGAIN. PLEASE USE ANOTHER JOB SEARCH AND DO NOT PAY FOR NOTHING

Marc,

Every position you have I have found on other sites. In fact: I have found more 100K+ positions in my field over INDEED than your site. You love to write about markets you have NO KNOWLEDGE on which is not un common. I see you now have soaked enough people to purchase TV commercials. All I can say Marc is: You are a crook that found a niche' market to soak.

People: TheLadders offers nothing. I pledge to all who read this: if you use INDEED, Monster and a few blog sites you will end up far better and with more potential hits. Also: Theladders has virtually nothing internationally which is something for people to consider. If certain positions are filled Theladders will still list them. This makes them no better than Indeed or Monster. Also, Marc Cenedella is no expert in anything let alone the job market.

To suggest that other major sites do not have 100K positions is just a lie. My background is in VoIP and telephony, filed a few patents in my field and have many years at a director level. I found far far more on international sites and 2 in the US than Theladders. If Cenedella wants proof I will be more than happy to show him. TheLadders is a joke and when one takes advantage of people seeking employment than they are low lifes. DO NOT JOIN HIS SITE...WHEN YOU SEE A LINK TO THE LADDERS FOR A JOB...just copy and paste the first sentence of the job description and guess what?...you will find the same job on another site!....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I wanted to put in my experience. I joined the Ladders to see if it was a legitimate site. Spoiler alert DON'T JOIN THE SITE
The resume writer actually like my resume, but didn't seem to proofread it as I had several grammatical errors. After I corrected the resume, I posted it and did not receive one view in two months. At Monster I got 3 the first day. Don't expect to be "found" here.
The Job postings appear to be fake and reposted after 3 months. I sent my resume to about 60 positions and not one reply, even to say they were going with someone else. I found one position to be totally false. I knew the "hiring" company personally. They not only weren't hiring, but didn't have a position with that title. 3 months later, The Ladders reposted the same job. I called their customer service, who stated that the job was legit and posted by a recruiter. They would not put me directly in touch with that person.
Bottom line is that this company is highly deceptive, with bogus jobs and auto renewal process. STAY AWAY from the LADDERS.

The Ladders has turned out to be a waste of time and money for me. I understand the risk you take paying to post your resume, however not one recruiter looked at my resume according to the "recruiters who viewed your resume" dashboard. I have a stellar resume and it's a complete shock to me that my resume has not been looked at once in the thirty days it has been posted. All of my current recruiters and employers that have contacted me are from monster.....GO MONSTER!

I found TheLadders to be lackluster - the two jobs in my city that were advertised on their site paid nowhere near the claimed six figures. Then they surprised me today with a lovely $75 auto-renewal ... and when I complained, they sent me a bogus form letter saying that customers love the auto-renewal feature. Count me as one dissatisfied ex-customer who will now be sure to tell lots of people about my experience with these arrogant clods.

I have subscribed to TheLadders for about a year. I am a veteran sales professional with technical account management and district sales management experience. I have been a top sales professional with solid, consistent achievements for 13 years. I paid TheLadders LOTS OF MONEY to rewrite my resume. I have NOT ONCE been contacted regarding one of their job postings in which I applied - including the postings where I am dead-on qualified. These postings cannot be real and this site is a scam and a waste of money.

Whatever flowery remarks that Marc Candella places on this site cannot substantiate the true job searchers experience.

Learn from my mistakes – do not sign up for anything on this site – I am in the process of canceling my subscription as soon as I can dig through their website to figure out how.

here's my issue with the ladders... seems that many of the jobs are really posted by the usual recruiting firms; and worse, they post the same job multiple times under multiple, slightly different names...

I've replied to a number of jobs, and had the same recruiter call.

The ladders also charges the employers and recruiters to post, so they get money on both sides. To me that seems unethical, like a recruiter charging both the client and the candidate when they make a placement. It used to be free for employers to post but they changed that policy about a year ago. It's a good site but not worth the money with all the other options available...
