hotjobs dips toe into social networking waters

One of the few offerings Yahoo! holds an advantage on Google is Yahoo! Answers. Basically, users ask questions and the community answers them. Questions, for example, have made their way into Y! search results.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that they’re integrating this technology into HotJobs via the homepage and internal pages.

Remember Hotjobs following the lead of vertical job search? Yep, now they’re following the popularity of social networking. There have been whispers of Yahoo! creating their own Facebook-type offering after passing on dropping $1 billion in acquisition. It certainly looks like they’re on the road to competing in the employment space. Should Jobster be flattered or scared or both?
