union pacific .jobs domain kickin’ google ranking butt

April 30th, 2007

With what appears to be no organized optimization strategy whatsoever, Union Pacific is racking up some nice organic rankings on Google with their .jobs domain.
In this example, they rank Top 5 for “railroad jobs,” a term Wordtracker currently estimates at 252 search queries per day.
Well done, UP.

jennifer floren of experience.com interview

April 27th, 2007

Count me as the newest member of the Jennifer Floren Fan Club. “Jenny,” as her employees call her, is the CEO of Experience.com, a “university-powered entry level jobs and recruiting solution that helps employers connect to the nation’s largest network of diverse and educated candidates.” They are also a Cheezhead advertiser.
Although I had known of […]

ben sherman jobs via myspace

April 26th, 2007

At the risk of sounding like a fancy boy, I’m a fan of clothier Ben Sherman. Hey, it was good enough for The Beatles …

‘getting the most out of myspace’ (or monster’s neal bruce is freakishly tall)

April 25th, 2007

It’s an understatement to say sharing newsletter real estate with Monster’s Neal Bruce is surreal, but there it is.
Authoria, a company that “provides talent management solutions that help companies recruit, develop, compensate, retain and engage high quality employees” has just released its April 2007 newsletter. It features articles by Bruce, Michelle Roccia, VP of […]

April 23rd, 2007

I’m typically the one who initiates interviews, but once in awhile a PR firm will grab hold of me and won’t let go. I respect the doggedness. The firm representing Trovix was one such pitbull.
So, I sat down with Trovix CEO and cofounder Jeff Benrey for a quick podcast at ERE. It was a […]

gojobby go bye-bye?

April 22nd, 2007

From a reader:
Despite Jobster’s acquisition of GoJobby, the site’s been live up until recently. Now it just goes to Jobster and I’ve lost all of GoJobby’s great tools … So much for me finding some local image processing talent, back to using LinkedIn.
Sure enough, a trip to GoJobby.com takes visitors to Jobster (although it’s on […]

less rumble, more mumble and fumble

April 22nd, 2007

I was initially inclined to write a lengthy diatribe on the event that was Jobster vs. Cheezhead. Upon further review, however, I’m over it. Time (and money) will be the ultimate judge on Jobster and its leader … not some conference sideshow.
