Even if you don’t know ‘jack’ about search engine optimization, you could probably tell me which of the following would be more appealing to an engine:
1.
2.
If you guessed No. 2, well done. If you guessed No. 1, time for a little refresher.
Basically, search engines like a site that has a lot of deep links to pages other than the homepage. This preference helps give blogs and newspaper or article sites with lots of unique URLs and interesting content a leg-up on sites that don’t.
The lesson: If you don’t have internal pages that are driving backlinks, you’re putting yourself at a big disadvantage.

Man, I hope this post wins Catbert back as a loyal reader..
On another note:
I think it’s interesting that you titled this post “How deep is your link?”, knowing that you’re an avid Bee Gees fan, and “How deep is your love” is your favorite song.
Freudian? I think not…

Guys,
Who do you think will most aggressively attack this space? The agencies? The ATS market? Job boards? The engines?
Btw, I’m not going to touch the fact that Chad knows Joel’s favorite band or even the fact that Bee Gees is that band…joke overload.

Does anyone else find it a bit disturbing that Chad knows Joels favorite song?

Chad: After once again demonstrating the power of a boycott, I have returned.
Matt: Corporate recruiting sites stand to gain the most from aggressive implementation of SEO strategies and tactics (IMO).
Nancy: Yes, very much so.
Cheez: Helluva day at the Jake, huh?
