Cheers to Indeed, who are starting to show-up in Google’s Page One for the industry’s top general keyword “jobs.” Currently No. 9.

Check off another 2007 prediction.
On a side note, CareerBuilder is out of the Top Ten, previously noted by a Cheezhead reader. Penalty? Probably. This deserves further investigation.

Hey Joel,
Why dont you ever talk about the other portals .. i.e. msn, yahoo and ask? Im just curious. I mean, if you wanlk into a room of 20 people and start talkiing about Google, there is a good chance not everyone is in love with them as much as you are. Thoughts?

All glory is fleeting. I just tried the same search and they do NOT appear on 1st page. Also, Steve ‘Jobs’ is the #10 result on my page. Indeed dropped to 2nd page, 1st result.

It shows up on page 2 for me. I’m based in Eastern Europe.
Oh! Hi first time here and thought I’d comment. Nice blog. Got your RSS feed now :-)

After buying some text links on PR6 websites we currently are holding the No. 1 position in google when searching for Jobs in China . SEO is easy as 1,2,3 ;-)

Indeed is moving up for “jobs” because of Google bombing. Check out the noscript section of their code on pages like this one and notice the link to Indeed on the word “jobs”: http://www.stuffintheair.com/environmental-health-and-safety-jobs.html
CB fell out of the top 10 because of a hardware issue that blocked bot access to the homepage. They’ve started moving back up now.
