of ribs, rims and recruiting
May 29th, 2007
Blog post inspiration happens in the strangest places. I didn’t attend this weekend’s Rib Fest in search of material, but I got it anyway:
1. CareerBuilder was in the house with a tent and van. They were taking pictures of people, then directing them to their site to view.

2. NBA great Charles Barkley made an appearance. He’s covering the Eastern Conference Finals.

3. Most interestingly, our local paper’s Web site, which belongs to a bigger group, is embracing user-generated content via cleveland.com/haveyoursay, which includes blogging, photos and (soon) video. Here’s the sticker they were passing out:
And 4. Me … for no particular reason at all:

Hope you had a great Memorial Day.

That is very interactive membership drive for Careerbuilder.com to interact with the community and build membership to their site. Jobing.com has a similar type of van going around the neighborhood in South Florida, but I have yet to find them holding these types of events. It is like they are using the van just to promote the website.
