Do you have any idea what SH & Indeed are spending on marketing? In your opinion – is it working for them?

Both indeed and SimplyHired are spending some $ on marketing. Maybe not the for you “visible” marketing like banners and billboards but they are highly active in seo, sem and affiliate marketing.

They are also job boards (they also aggregate third party listings) with growing traffic numbers – not social sites. Check the traffic numbers compared to JobFox – WAY higher than JobFox. JobFox launched in ‘05.

When you make a service that is actually useful on the Web – you don’t need to spend that much money on marketing. Viral marketing is free – it’s what works on the Web.

I suppose Monster would have established and maintained such a dominant position in their space with, I’ll tell you, $0 ad spend??? Sheesh, try getting a clue instead of that viral bug that’s keeping you under the weather!

You clearly don’t understand the social Web or the power of viral marketing that can occur on social sites. Either does JobFox and hence the ridiculous ad spend by the former AOL genius that runs marketing for them.

There are a slew of other smaller but growing sites out there (including job-related sites) that also spend $0 on marketing but I doubt you could name any of them
