I’m a sucker for over-the-top sales techniques and guerrilla self-promotion. So when recruiting video provider startup Vcruit, whose founders I recently met at a conference, sent me a recruiting video for HRSEO to get my attention, Jim Kukral-style, I couldn’t help but share it:

Aside from the fact that my company isn’t hiring at the moment, is this an effective way for companies to promote employment opportunities and will employers, historically skittish on such technology, embrace this medium, taking it mainstream? The guys at Vcruit think so, but time will tell.
The second question for me is, If companies can (simply) make their own videos and slap them on YouTube, like this, will such a service become an unnecessary middleman? The guys at Vcruit must think not, but time will tell.
