Monster Worldwide sent out the following e-mail this week to clients. Although it’s a tad unclear from the message, the goal is to direct recipients to a survey asking for help in naming a new video service for employers.

Yeah, I love the first line too: “Monster is always developing new product ideas.” OK, ideas are great. Now how ’bout some actual products? I also enjoy their emphasis on privacy and anonymity in light of their really bad advertisers. But I digress …
Aside from that, in a single stroke, Monster is going to go video on us and they’re even getting the community involved to help name the offering (real 2.0 would be to make the survey open to everyone and publish the results in real time, but it’s a start, I guess). As far as pricing though? Yeah, there’s no vote on that one. Sorry.
From Monster:
We will soon be offering employers three different video product options to complement their Job Postings and Company Profiles. These videos provide an increased opportunity for employers to promote their brand and gain an edge over competitors that are vying for similar candidates. They will also provide candidates additional information on the company and opportunity they are interested in.
Monster 2.0? God help us.

I guess they’ve been reading what we’ve been writing about video hiring and video resumes. Smart move.

How about Monster Vac- cause they pretty-much suck. Oh I guess that’s already taken!
