Very interesting. Google is testing search results by time, such as “past 24 hours.” Checkout the screenshot:

Google testing time-specific search

The results are noticeably different from what you normally see. This is obviously a test, but as Web sites get a little grayer and blogs become more prevalent, being able to search by date or time is likely a future trend in search. This is a glimpse.

Did you by chance do a search of the advanced search page first? Because if you do, that’s what happens. Watch:

    http://www.google.com/search?as_q=recruiting&hl=en&num=10&as_qdr=d

See, I searched on advanced, then got that box showing on the results. I’ve trimmed off the parameters of the URL that aren’t necessary to make it appear.

I noticed today that there is a time for each webpage next to each result. I think they are doing something with time-frame for sure.
