My good friend Rusty Rueff (we wrote a book together Talent Force and are still friends) had a few comments about referrals based on his recruiting leadership experiences at Pepsico and Electronic Arts. I thought his view interesting and worth sharing. Take a look – true?
Here is his hypothesis, See if it holds for you?
| |
% of people who say they will |
% of people who have |
| Do something when given the opportunity to refer someone to their company |
50% |
5% |
| Do it because there is money associated with the referral |
60% |
5% |
| Do it because there is even more money involved |
70% |
5% |
| Really tell the truth on how they think about a Referral Program |
100% |
5% |
| Do something else to help the Staffing department fill jobs like hand out flyers, send an email, make a phone call |
80% |
5% |
| Bring their best friend to work one day to just hang out and let their friend make their own decision |
50% |
5% |
| Bring their dog to work |
60% |
5% |
| Refer their boss to another company to get rid of him/her |
5% |
95% |
There you have it…;)
