While giving the sponsored keynote luncheon at Kennedy, CEO Jeff Benrey let out that his company, Trovix, was getting ready to launch a PPC offering for advertisers. I tracked him down afterward for some answers.

Perhaps the best description is with a visual:

Trovix

Ignore the numbered arrows. Pay attention to the others by red borders.

According to Benrey, this is set to launch in Jan. of ‘08. What’s interesting is, while there’s obvious influence from PPC offerings that have come before - in the form of above-organic-ads (a la Google AdWords) - they mix in eBay-style highlighted organic listings. Note the result in yellow, featuring Sales Force.com. For a comparison, Monster uses bolding within its organic results.

Benrey was mum on the fee structure or whether or not the two options would be separate. I infer, however, that it will mirror similar solutions in our space, such as Simply Hired. As usual, we’ll keep an eye on things and let you know when this goes live.

The world does NOT need another pay-per-click job board that can only figure out how to sell its services to other job boards and fail miserably when it tries to get direct corporate clients to purchase a PPC advertising model.

A job board (which attracts Active candidates only, right )utilizing PPC as a way to drive traffic to jobs on corporate career sites is the same as an Ivy League University paying to get applicants from C and D students. Doesn’t make Sense!!!
