no more exclusively posting to monster’s jobs.com

Monster has quietly stopped allowing employers to post jobs exclusively to Jobs.com, a site they own. Monster listings have always been cross-posted, but you used to be able to post to Jobs.com alone for $25.

The Old Buying Information

If you visit the old pricing page today, you’ll see:

Effective immediately, no new postings will be accepted through posttojobs.com. We apologize for any inconvenience. Existing postings will remain active and visible to job seekers.

I don’t know of any employers who use Jobs.com, but any who do are likely ticked-off. Clicking the “Post a Job Here!” link now takes you to Monster.

The greater question is Why? and What now? It’s safe to say Jobs.com exists for search reasons alone, and if Compete is to be trusted the site still garners decent traffic, so I don’t see it going away to be redirected to the mothership. The easy guess as to Why?, of course, is Monster needs the money.

Rest in peace, cheap postings at Jobs.com.
