suck on monster with new applicant tracking tool

If you’re currently shopping around for a new applicant tracking system, you owe it to yourself to checkout CATS, an open source, free-to-cheap offering.

In addition to being easy on the wallet, the power of open source historically means the addition of new features on a regular basis. I also love open source for a variety of search engine optimization reasons, but I’ll save that for another post. Let’s focus.

Recently, CATS has added the option for recruiters to download an Internet browser toolbar. Notably, you can add resumes from many of your favorite job boards at the click of a mouse.

Suck resumes out of Monster, HotJobs (and others) with a single click – While logged in to a paid resume database, the toolbar will automatically detect if the candidate being viewed currently exists in CATS.

I’m no ATS aficionado, but this is the first I’ve heard of such a tool(bar). Pretty cool. In addition to slurping up resumes like candy at Halloween, the toolbar also offers 1) automatic login and 2) searching your resume database directly from your Web browser. And as toolbars are pretty flexible for adding more options, I’d imagine this is just a start.

The toolbar is only available to professional accounts, currently demanding $29/mo./user up to about 10,000 resumes. Click here for more information.
