I agree with a few of you. Careerbuilder, Hotjobs and Monster offer lots of resumes to sift through. Even with their out of date filter techniques, how much quality do you get. When relevance plays second fiddle to bulk, your just wasting valuable time. Its not like they use credible filter software e.g. supercandidate.com. I think that before long the smart jobseeker or sales rep will go to niche sites where the chances of a decent quality hit based on specialized selection will overpower the "everything in a box and look somemore" offerings of these large sites. And no I am not a ex-monster subscriber but work at an active employment firm, where quality not quantity matter.

How could you say too many? Careerbuilder offers advanced searches and if you do it RIGHT you will get exactly what you're looking for out of a much larger pool of candidates.... so do training and...... SILENCE that nonsense

Here is the problem. As Careerbuilder has grown have you noticed how many jobs come up as relevant? TO MANY!!!! As the internet becomes more nice, my believe is that niche job board websites will play a huge role when job seekers are looking for new positions. They may be the biggest, but are they truly the best.......Think recruiters...

So is careerbuilder, Not to mention CareerBuilder has partnered with AOL and MSN as Microsoft is a part owner of CareerBuilder. You may want to consider that CareerBuilder has 1600 Niche sites it powers as well. Go to MSN and click on jobs...its CareerBuilder. Yes nitch sites are key to attracting relavent job seekers thats why its important to diversify your business model, this is why hot jobs and monster will continue to decline in revenue and market share. I encourage anyone to google them lots of bad press and dropping share prices. Did I mention turnover.

Every vendor seems to have different numbers that they communicate. The "full" list that whould show Monster ahead of Careerbuilder also includes Monsters traffic from dating sites they own like tickle. Separation of career only traffic is what makes Careerbuilder a clear #1, Yahoo! HotJobs #2 and Monster #3. When judging career traffic does anyone care how many people went to flickr to upload photos or tickle to find a date? I think not!

Also, rumor has it Careerbuilder has locked down facebook as an exclusive partner. Moving into that social networking space should show the world how powerful that space can really be. Only time will tell I suppose.

I am challenged when data is presented by the Big 3 that misrepresents what is happening in the marketplace. Two points I want to make -

1. Comscore lists about 182 million Internet users in the US and the best that one of these "Big 3" can do is reach 13.9 million or 7.6% of the population - big deal...

2. All 3 tout how they compare to each other - but the real fact is that the Big 3 as a group represent less and less of the traffic to jobs. The massive growth is in aggregator, niche, abd direct traffic to corporate sites.

The Big 3 are yesterdays news. The focus today is on how to tap into social network sites as well as effective corporate recruiting SEO & SEM strategies.

If you go to this link http://www.comscore.com/press/release.asp?press=1974 and check out table # 3 comcsore doesnt even break down he stats for hotjobs seperately. also they show monster ranking ahead of careerbuiler...

these numbers can be spun many ways...
