As a blogger who likes to keep new tunes in the iPod, I always keep an eye on how others are making money. Hollywood-gossiper Perez Hilton is one of the best. Yes, I really do read it for the marketing.

If you’re interested and you get a chance (and it isn’t blocked at work), checkout the site, currently promoting the upcoming film release of Cloverfield. Creatively, the logo – hell, most of the site – is part of the ad campaign.

Genius! Such advertising activities are nothing new – Yahoo! and MySpace are old hats – but this is the first case I’ve seen of a blog going to such lengths.

A little shameless whoring: By the way, if anyone out there is interested in turning Cheezhead into something similar, I’m all ears. Or you can just go with something a little more traditional.

C’mon, I can only listen to Pyromania so many times.
