I first heard whispers of referral site H3 being on the market about a month ago. It seemed a little strange considering a recent surge in advertising and a price increase. However, I called them for confirmation and the gossip was quickly denied. I went on with my life.

Surprise!

A month later the rumors have significant weight. Says CEO Hans Gieskes:

We are indeed in discussion with a number of parties, some of who you know well, about selling / seeing H3.com become an embedded part of either a recruiting solutions company or a social network company.

Stay tuned. Gieskes assures me that the company will continue operating as usual. That said, it looks like it’s just a matter of time before we see the company under new ownership.
