careerbuilder’s ‘dirty skanks’ ad campaign

Articles

By most accounts, the latest CareerBuilder TV ads are about as popular as Celine Dion’s greatest hits at a biker bar.

The online ad campaign that has followed, however, might be equally unappetizing. The day after the Super Bowl, for example, CareerBuilder took over the look-and-feel of College Humor.

A site plastered with orange is bad enough, but the ad copy chosen is more disturbing, saying After you’re done watching dirty skanks, find a better job.

Nice, huh? And ad copy aside, is this the kind of job seeker you want looking at your openings or filling your resume database? Well, OK, maybe you do, but you’re in the minority.

I’m amazed at their incompetence each day. Were those monkey commercials shot on location at the CB offices in Chicago?
