February 7th, 2008

A recent press release from Hitwise has good news for CareerBuilder, naming it the top visited employment Web site from the previous week.

The asterisk means “the market share of visits percentage does not include traffic for all sub-domains … which are reported on separately.” Click here for more.

In addition to that news, Hitwise helped shed some light on Indeed’s growth, saying Indeed.com also received the largest percentage of traffic from search engines, 31 percent, and the largest amount of paid searches, 93 percent, for last week.

These numbers represent pre-Super Bowl advertising data. And although the buzz has been mostly negative around CareerBuilder’s latest ad campaign, Hitwise is reporting the ads led to a 39 percent uptick in Web traffic on the day after the game. The increase gave CareerBuilder the 14th highest increase among Super Bowl advertisers, out of 32 total.

somehow those stats do not look legit. it’s hard to believe that hotjobs had such a dramatic increase in growth and monster had such a dramatic decrease…

in comparison if you use the data from compete.com it shows monster above careerbuilder. and then you go to comscore.com and they tell a different story.

i dont really trust the data/reporting from any of these website tracking companies…

and careerbuilder inflates their job apply numbers by adding unsuspecting resumes to job ads….i was added and didnt even apply to a job from careerbuilder

comscore is the only legitimate reporting out there. msn, yahoo, and google report those numbers to the street so you can assure they are legitimate. according to comscore media metrix, the us job board traffic rankings are… 1. careerbuilder 2.yahoo hotjobs 3. monster.
