Great show. I even enjoyed the Super Bowl discussion and thought it a bit funny you guys warmed with a sports discussion much like any other conversation. Keep'em coming. All the best, Chad in your Reserve efforts.

Any chance you could provide a straight link to the file for those of us who might want to listen outside of the browser or iTunes platform? Thanks!

Nice work boys. Go Giants.

Chad, thanks for helping Joel step back from the ledge on Indeed.

When it comes to the indeed/permalink issue I think its really important to note the value that indeed provides employers when it scrapes and optimizes the employers content for search in the first place.

We all know that in most cases these employers’ career sites are poorly optimized and this market is underserved.

I’ve personally spoken to a bunch of employers whom where spending aggressively on monster and hotjobs and not spending on Indeed. Yet, Indeed was providing a very considerable amount of career site traffic.

To one extent, Indeed is optimizing these careers sites at no cost to the employer. Yea it’s selling ads around the content but I think that’s ok. They are providing a service in exchange.

It’s still a grey area because in some cases job boards may not want this to happen. Indeed should offer an opt-out form for those sites.

That’s what hotjobs did when it began scraping content. I think its a good and fair move.

Moving forward I think Rony at Indeed should be careful with Joel.

With Jason Goldberg out of the picture, Joel may be in he market to put a new mark in his sights.

Thanks for listening everyone...

Chrisr - no we didn't miss that at all with StandOutJobs, I think that discussion could've gone further and it might.. I agree on NOT restricting video, especially with regard to PPV models versus open syndication.

Very funny Bill - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRwwYWlbP2U

I know Julian, I know... ;o)

Joel/Chad,

Welcome to the podcast world (ok – you’ve been broadcasting podcasts individually for some time, but you know what I mean!).

Seriously though, great show, some interesting topics and well based arguments, although I think some of my listeners might disagree with Chad’s comments that everyone looks to the US economy - we do have innovation and economies in the UK and EU too you know :-)

Keep up the good work.

Good stuff guys. However I thought you missed the point about Standout Jobs. I see it more as a "career site in a box" type product rather than just an ATS. Big companies wont find it compelling but the small to midsize companies is who they are targeting. And they are most likely to be open to features like blogging, video, photos, etc in an effort to make their company interesting to candidates.

Also, although Career TV does upload some content to YouTube, I find their pricing model to be a bit restrictive since they limit the amount of views a video can get on their site. The goal should be to maximize the video content, not restrict it.

Still listening (after the part about Standout Jobs) but great job so far. I really enjoy the commentary and relaxed tone. Breaking it up and showing the times - so people can jump around - is a great move.

Good luck with it!
