Video

I first heard about Workblast – a site that does video resumes, I think – after reading a press release (and seeing their homepage) that they had signed near-goat NY Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes as their spokesman.

What, was Garo Yepremian not available?

Anyway, idiot kickers aside, I checked their site and found out they were relaunching in February. I marked my calendar. Hmm, it’s March. Maybe they meant February 2009. Oh well.

Then I checked them out on YouTube. Their launch party is a hoot, complete with a runway fashion show. Or at least I think it’s a fashion show. It’s not like I hangout at fashion shows, ya’ know?

Other Workblast YouTube videos are equally entertaining. Who knew? Hot babes equal video resume gold! Sign us up. And here’s to hoping these guys throw a shindig at ERE next month.

This is their 3rd…mind you 3rd re-launch in a short time. About 1 every three months……Now thats commitment to a concept

I seriously hope this is not a trend in business. I’ve spent enough time skimming through resumes to know that I wouldn’t want to do this with videos as well. Also, what about the potential disparate impact claims. I can see the headlines now, “Company Uses Video Resumes to Discriminate”.

Nick Murphy is a washed up football player with a huge ego. What makes him think he knows how to run a business?
