John Zappe has the story on ERE. Nice guy Neal Bruce has left Monster Worldwide (MNST). He was vice president of the global innovation group.
This is a particularly big blow to the organization from a PR standpoint, as Neal was well-known and well-liked within conference circles. He was also a blogger favorite.
We certainly wish him well. No word on his next steps, although, as Zappe reports, blogging could be in his future. Hopefully, he’ll be sticking around the employment industry.
This announcement follows another recent departure by director Philip R. Lochner, as reported by Alley Insider.

That’s a real loss for Monster. Neal was the face of Monster at the meetings of the International Association of Employment Web Sites, the industry trade association.
At times it seems at times that some job board owners are more interested in beating up on Monster than doing their best to serve their own users. During those types of discussions Neal was the calm voice of reason and frequently steered the conversation back to where it could be productive. If Monster’s resume bank was being hacked, he would point out that if it could happen to Monster then it could happen to any of us so the problem wasn’t Monster’s as much as it was the industry’s.
We will miss him yet I’m sure that my fellow job board owners will agree that we all wish him the very best wherever he ends up.
