My French is pretty limited - ya’ know, croissant, fromage, bière, the basics. However, with the whole “world is flat” thing, I should probably start learning more than just English. And the growth of job sites in far-off places is a great motivator too.
CareerBuilder.ca has entered a strategic partnership with BRANCHEZ-VOUS! (that’s “You Plug” according Google translator) to power its new online job search center. Under the exclusive agreement, CareerBuilder will provide users access to job postings in Quebec and the rest of Canada. They’ll also provide workplace related articles.

They are constantly looking to advance their careers and partnering with CareerBuilder.ca guarantees the expertise needed to quickly link our users with their next great jobs.”
CareerBuilder will get promotion on the BRANCHEZ-VOUS! Network, “Canada’s largest French-language Internet advertising network which reaches approximately 3 million French Canadians each month on over 200 French-language Web sites.” A company release also proclaims BRANCHEZ-VOUS to be the largest independent portal in Quebec, with over 700,000 unique users. (Compete tells a different story, but OK.)
The trend could be growing one for CareerBuilder internationally. Said Remy Piazza, managing director of CareerBuilder Canada. “The partnership is the just the latest step in CareerBuilder.ca’s strategy to partner with best of breed organizations in Canada to speed and sharpen the recruitment process.”

Compete shows only the US numbers; that’s why the unique visitor count is shown greatly diminished for Canadian sites. Even monster.ca is shown as receiving only 80k uniques, which is understating the traffic by around 3 million uniques. Same problem with quantcast as well, but at leas they specify that they are measuring only the US uniques.
